A busy junction between Kittoch Street and West Mains Road.

The cycle route along the Whitemoss Avenue shared footway is signed into the park, including a rather steep bit of path at the corner (seen also in #107580).

A newly improved connection between Whitemoss Road and the Whitemoss Roundabout underpasses. But no direction signs for the cycle route nearby. The bin probably doesn't have to be located in the actual cycle track either.

A warning (not triangular) of low height at the Whitemoss Roundabout.

Route signs at the Whitemoss Roundabout for the cycle route to Brancumhall, but the Health Centre pointed to is not the closest health centre to this location, and so could be confusing.

The footway on this section of West Mains Road is not shared-use, although it looks little different from the section that is, and the carriageway is just as busy and fast-paced, so why not fill this gap in the network?

The Stewartfield cycle path meets West Mains Road. Navigate between the bus shelter and the cabinet to get to the toucan crossing.

The cycle route to Stewartfield doesn't actually have any destination signs in the direction towards Stewartfield. Turn right here for Stewartfield, or continue straight ahead to #31495 where the shared footway along West Mains Road ends. ... [more]

The cycle route to Stewartfield approaching the toucan crossing where the route leaves West Mains Road.

A new toucan crossing replacing a footbridge with stepped ramps over West Mains Road. But nowhere obvious to cycle on the far side of the crossing.

The cycle route to Stewartfield at Strathfillan Road.

The cycle route to Stewartfield along West Mains Road, opposite St Kenneth's Primary School, hence the part-time 20mph limit.

The cycle route to Stewartfield passing Kirtonholme Recreation Area.

To get onto the cycle route to Stewartfield from NCN756 on West Mains Road, the simplest way appears to be to use the slip onto Torrance Road and then the dropped kerb inside the junction.

The connection from Barr Terrace to NCN756 on West Mains Road is pedestrian only.

This way to the cycle route, at Whitemoss Roundabout.

A sign for the Sports Centre, but what about the cycle route all the way to Brancumhall?

A sign for East Kilbride town centre. But choose the further away path if you intend to use the shared footway and don't want to bump over the grass (see #107587).

The original cycle track leads cyclists out onto the busy Whitemoss Road carriageway. But the footway has been made shared use, without a connection being made between the cycle track and the footway to allow transfer onto the shared footwa ... [more]

The original layout at four of East Kilbride's roundabouts was that cyclists could leave the road before the roundabout, use the underpasses (including a pedestrian and cyclist roundabout in the centre such as at #107590), and then rejoin t ... [more]

A path being widened at Whitemoss Roundabout.

The shared-use footway alongside one side of the busy Whitemoss Avenue.

The cycleway along the Whitemoss Avenue footway (see #107581) is signed into the park and towards Avondale Avenue (and the path with steps in #107573).

No evidence that this section of footway on Whitemoss Avenue is a cycleway. It's also rather busy and cluttered.

I'm hoping this newly marked cycle path alongside Whitemoss Avenue will be widened once the work behind the hoardings has been finished.

'Slow' - a path that needs widened once the work behind the hoarding is finished.

End of Cycle Route and Cyclists Dismount signs at end of shared-use footway on Queensway. Quite why the footway on the rest of Queensway is considered any less suitable for shared-use is anybody's guess! West Mains Road is very busy and ... [more]

End of short path from toucan crossing (see #31494). Residential road links to further section of cycle path (see #31496).

Toucan crossing on route across main road. Path extends a considerable way across town (but see #31493).
