Steps only access to NCR756 at Rosslyn Ave, East Kilbride

The cycle route into East Kilbride crosses Glenburn Way, but ends at the next junction at #31505. Since this road is one-way, a sign to diagram 810 would be appropriate here to inform those crossing.

The shared footway (although there has been no sign to say so) goes through a bus stop without any widening. Luckily for me, a bus had just left.

Why can't the corner be more rounded? What are the bollards for? Why isn't there a distance for the town centre? The cycle route doesn't even go as far as the town centre. It gives up on Queensway at #31505.

The cycle route joins a path.

Barbana Road runs parallel to Redwood Drive, and serves an office development, as well as playing host to the cycle route between Eaglesham, Thorntonhall and East Kilbride.

East Kilbride a quarter of a mile away? Only the very edge of town.

No cycling or walking on the Glasgow Southern Orbital road.

The footway on this section of West Mains Road is not shared-use, although it looks little different from the section that is, and the carriageway is just as busy and fast-paced, so why not fill this gap in the network?

The Maxwellton Road underpass beneath Kingsway is unlit during daytime, apart from the skylight in the central reservation. A far cry from the neat conservation area on Maxwellton Road.

The underpass beneath Kingsway at the end of Maxwellton Road has ramps and is possible to cycle, but has lots of sharp corners. The dropped kerb is also a bit of a bump.

This track runs parallel to Kingsway and leads through to the Whitemoss Recreation Area and roundabout. A through route for cycling, but not driving.

Burns Park ends in the Maxwellton Conservation Area.

I'm not sure whether this kerb is dropped or not, but the path leads to the ramped footbridge across Kingsway to Burns Park.

A path signed as a cycle access to NCN756, but could do with being a little bit wider. The road at the top, Logie Park, is one way, but there is no sign to tell cyclists this.

The access to NCN756 is vulnerable to blockage by van parking at Glamis Drive.

The older path connects Highfield Place and The Gateway, while the newer path connects across to NCN756 on the railway path. No signage, but as NCN756 also joins The Gateway, it can be reached by either route for those heading north.

NCN756 turns left to leave the railway path alignment, while the cycle route to Blantyre and Hamilton starts, but is only signed as going to East Mains. There's a sign for Hamilton up on Wilson Place.

The Blantyre to East Kilbride cycle route turns from Stoneymeadow Road onto the shared footway leading to Kingsway.

An extremely narrow shared-use footway on the corner of Stoneymeadow Road and Whin Place.

The gap to the side of the gate would be easier to use if all the other debris was removed. There's another gate up next to the golf course club house, but all is neat and tidy there.

Chapelside Road signed as a 'No Through Road' but is a through road for walking and cycling, and can be used to bypass the poor crossing facilities around the A749 to get to Nerston East or for heading east.

I'm not too sure what's going on here.
